Ceremony Attendance and Cap and Gown Orders

Midyear 2019

To confirm graduation ceremony attendance and order your academic attire, please visit www.hofstra.edu/academicattire. You will be directed to the Hofstra portal. Simply follow the instructions, carefully check the order and click submit.  An order confirmation will display.  Orders for academic attire must be received by Friday, November 15, 2019.

Additional academic attire will be ordered for students who miss the deadline or register late.  Please follow the instructions in the Academic Attire Distribution paragraph to obtain academic attire after the November 15 deadline.

ACADEMIC ATTIRE DISTRIBUTION

Academic attire distribution will be  Wednesday and Thursday, December 11 and December 12 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.in the Plaza Rooms in the Mack Student Center.  You may also pickup your academic attire on Thursday, December 19, 2019 starting at 5 p.m. at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center (where you will be lining up for the ceremony).  Please present your HofstraCard at distribution.  There is no fee for the academic attire, and it is yours to keep after the ceremony.

When you arrive at the academic attire distribution area, you will be asked to swipe your HofstraCard; if you don’t have your HofstraCard, you may provide your Hofstra ID number.  You will receive a yellow card with your name on it.  This card is used for you to line-up behind a placard with your school name on it, announce your name at the ceremony, and for Island Photography to take your picture.  Please check the card to make sure your name is listed correctly.  If your name is difficult to pronounce, please indicate the phonetic spelling.

Please check your academic attire package to make sure you have a cap, gown and tassel.  Undergraduate degree candidates will have a blue and yellow tassel; graduate degree candidates will have a yellow tassel; and doctoral and Maurice A. Deane School of Law degree candidates will have a gold tassel.  Graduate, doctoral and Maurice A. Deane School of Law degree candidates will also have a hood in the academic attire package indicating their school.

Spring 2020

ACADEMIC ATTIRE PICKUP

Academic attire distribution will be  Wednesday and Thursday, May 13 and May 14 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.in the Plaza Rooms in the Mack Student Center.  You may also pickup your academic attire on Sunday, May 17, 2020 starting at 7 a.m.. at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center (where you will be lining up for the ceremony).  Please present your HofstraCard at distribution.  There is no fee for the academic attire, and it is yours to keep after the ceremony.
