Explore Hofstra Roots – Sunday, May 7, 2017

Hofstra wishes to continue celebrating its roots by hosting a public tour of its nationally recognized arboretum.

Join Fred Soviero, Director of Hofstra’s Grounds and Landscaping, as he explores and presents information on Hofstra’s arboretum. Soviero oversees the care and maintenance of the gardens in Hofstra’s 240 acre campus. His dedication and contribution to the arboriculture industry presented him with the 2016 President’s Award from the New York State Arborists (NYSA).

Hofstra will also host an indoor landscape lecture focusing on the arboretum’s spring-blooming bulbs.

Patrice Dimino, Hofstra’s Landscape Designer and Assistant Curator will introduce you to the wide variety of bulbs that bloom throughout the arboretum from late winter to late spring.  Ms. Dimino’s design contributions to the university include various landscapes that range from beautification projects, memorial gardens as well as the annual campus-wide spring display of bulbs in honor of the university’s Dutch heritage.  Please join her in celebrating the beauty of spring.

Admission is free. Space is limited; registration is required.
