MS COMPUTER SCIENCE INFORMATION SESSION WEBINAR
Tuesday, April 23, 2019, 3:00PM

Join Dr. Gerda Kamberova, Professor and Graduate Program Director of Hofstra’s Master of Science in Computer Science, for an overview presentation about this dynamic master’s degree program.  The webinar will provide highlights of the MS program (which can be completed online or in person), details about the application cycle, and insight into trends in the field of computer science.  Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions for discussion. RSVP HERE.

The objectives of the masters of computer science program are to develop highly qualified professionals capable of adapting with ease to the dynamic field of computing and to prepare students interested in pursuing doctoral studies in computer science or related fields. This master program provides a strong foundation and students may choose an area of specialization.

Elective courses are offered in cutting-edge areas, such as:

  • data mining and machine learning
  • networks and network security
  • distributed, parallel and mobile computing
  • computer graphics and computer vision
  • artificial intelligence

In addition, a software management course is offered for interested students who wish to pursue leadership positions. The program ends with a capstone experience, which may be in the form of an independent project or a master's thesis.

Students in the masters of computer science program also have the opportunity to participate in the DeMatteis Co-op Program.  Co-op students are hired for a paid position in a company related to their degree program for a period of six to eight months prior to graduation. Working as a co-op gives students valuable hands-on experience and is a tremendous advantage for graduating students seeking full-time employment.

Our 30 s.h. masters program offers a truly unique and exciting learning experience for those who are interested in pursuing a highly successful career in the dynamic field of computing.
