Rosenberg Gallery

Located in Calkins Hall, The Rosenberg Gallery presents exhibitions of professional artists to the Hofstra community. This provides students with the special opportunity to view world-class exhibitions and meet the artists in person. Past shows have included fine art and design work by nationally and internationally known figures. All exhibitions include a reception and gallery talk, which is a valuable resource for students and faculty. In addition, the gallery offers opportunities for Hofstra student interns.

Hermetic Perversions: A Charming Night With Vicki Vermicelli
Works by Daniel Giordano

January 29 – March 1
Rosenberg Gallery, Calkins Hall, 1st floor
Opening reception, Wednesday, January 29, 2-3 p.m. followed by an artist talk 3-4 p.m. at Calkins Hall, room 115

Artist Daniel Giordano's sculptures tell multiple stories, so many stories they’ve become one, freaky, fragmented tale: the detritus of the Hudson River, preserved cheesecake crusts from his Italian aunt, deep-fried baseball bats, fizzy-sugared Orange Tang all help to form a repertoire of relentless wonder that is his vision.

Giordano was born in Poughkeepsie, NY. He earned his MFA from the University of Delaware. He has had solo exhibitions at Uffizi, Cold Spring, NY; Wil Aballe Art Projects, BC, Canada; and Sardine, Brooklyn, NY. Group exhibitions include Mother, Beacon, NY; Baba Yaga, Hudson, NY; Gazebo, Brooklyn, NY; and Morgan Lehman, New York, NY. Giordano's work has been featured in The New York Times, Cultured Magazine, Art Spiel, Canadian Art, and Chronogram. Additionally, Giordano co-founded and runs Vicki, an exhibition space in Newburgh, NY, where he lives and works.
